> I can see why ActiveX's selected in this way require registration when distributed.
> When I click on it, the text in the Result text immediately below shows me that it is MSCAL.OCX > From the ActiveX list, I can find Calendar Control 8.0. > I can Click ActiveX Control (OLEcontrol) in the Form Controls Toolbar > Since this is working, has the MSCAL70.OCX control been registered during installation of VFP7 on that computer, without copying the MSCAL70.ocx file to disc? > My VFP 7.0 application ( a compiled exe menu which allows selection of exe's) with the _olecalendar control is working fine on the W2000 computer above in run time environment. > Ive searched the Microsoft web site, and cant find any references to it. > Ive done a search on an XP computer (no VFP installed), and a W2000 computer (with VFP 7.0 development and runtime installed), and neither has this MSCAL70.OCX file. > The "Self-register" technique certainly does extend the distribution capabilities. > Priceless information Barbara, thank you. In the first dropdown, select "Self-registration". To get it to register, add it to the list of files and then right-click on it and select properties. Seen this problem mentioned in a similar posting, but didnt find a solution. > Is there an item I should check in the InstallShield Objects/Merge modules section to register this control? > What exactly do I need to register on the customer computer? > Ive assumed that since it was added to the form in the Component Gallery that it didnt require to be registered. > This seems to have worked fine on many other installations.
